The Michael P. Savoca Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce, that with your help, we were able to make the following donations:
- $20,000 to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in December 2012
- L$20,000 to the University of Chicago Interstitial Lung Disease Program in December 2012
- $30,000 to the University of Chicago Interstitial Lung Disease Program in September 2011
- $7,500 to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in December 2011
- $25,000 to the University of Chicago Interstitial Lung Disease Program in December 2010
- $10,000 to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in December 2010
We chose to donate to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation as their actions reflect those of our mission statement, specifically increasing public awareness towards Pulmonary Fibrosis. They are based out of Chicago and are making great strides in helping fight this disease. The Michael P. Savoca Memorial Foundation especially admires the PFF for their efforts regarding the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Patient Registry and Care Center Network. Additionally, the Savoca Family is honored to have been selected to help cohost the Breathe Benefit 2013.
We chose to donate to the U of C because they are one of eleven organizations that make up the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Clinical Research Network (CRN). The physicians at U of C are considered experts on pulmonary fibrosis. Furthermore, the MPS Memorial Foundation has a personal relationship with U of C as this is where Michael Savoca was treated. We were honored to have Dr. Imre Noth, a leading PF doctor and researcher, as a guest at our last two Celebrating A Breath of Hope dinner events.
